Coop's 15th Birthday Party - Change of Venue

The party on the coming Sunday 22 April is now will be happening IN THE SCOUT HALL at the top of IVANHOE PARK [OFF PARK AVE]. All welcome. It is happening between 12 midday and 4 pm.

15 years Manly Food Coop

The Coop has been serving the public of Manly for 15 years and is celebrating the anniversary of its success on Saturday 22 April with a party. The time is to be annouced.
The party will be held at Keelah's house. The address is available from the Coop. All are welcome.

Christmas trading times

The coop will close on Saturday 24 December a little early, shortly after midday. It will probably be closed for about a week, reopening on 3 January as usual.

Opening hours on Thursdays

The Coop is no longer open late on Thursdays. It will close on Thursdays at 3 pm as on other days.

Contamination of food from recycled cardboard

When recycled cardboard is used in food packaging it risks contaminating the food. Food rapidly absorbs the mineral oils from printing inks which are contained in recycled cardboard. Food becomes contaminated to many times the recommended limits of mineral oils.

Even if food is packaged in clean boxes, it is contaminated if transported in corrugated boxes made from recycled cardboard.

Reusing has advantages over recycling.

Extended hours on Thursdays to continue

The coop will remain open on Thursdays until 6 pm after a successful trial in May.

Thursday late opening hours

In May the coop is open until 6pm on Thursdays.
Thursday is also one of the days when fresh fruit, veges and bread are available. Fresh veges and bread also arrive on Tuesdays.

Earth Hour 2011

Switch the lights off at 8.30 (or earlier). Maybe even switch them off more often on other days. And the air-conditioners, cars, and other energy wasters.
