Website survey

This blog is conducting a survey (in the sidebar >>) about user opinions on the coop's websites to help in the decision making about which one is to be adopted as "official". The two candidates can be seen here:
Some criteria you may wish to consider in your decision making are the following:
  • readability
  • general appearance
  • navigation
  • modern look and feel
  • up to web standards in 2008
  • interactive - can you say anything there?
  • other criteria you may wish to add in the comments section below
If you have any comments that go beyond the survey constraints, please add a comment below.

Here is my feedback as a member, for what it is worth, on the website issue:

i really liked the clarity and readability of Di's website.

i think the new one is cluttered and inconsistent there are too many things going on.

Black is not an attractive choice of background colour and makes the photos even darker than they are. The opening picture is not the most inviting.
white text on a pale background is not easy to read either.

The doubling up of tabs and links at the top of the page looks cluttered.

The green bar at the bottom looks inconsistent. Why not use it as a background, and put tabs/links on the frames on either side?

the pages take a while to load up because of the graphics. I do like the idea of the closeups of products - this looks cool.

linking to di's page is confusing and incoherent and unprofessional. I would decide on one or the other sites to represent mfc, not both.

Thanks,

Tali.
